Mantova

Mantua is a city surrounded by three artificial lakes and located in Lombardy. It is known for the Renaissance architecture of the buildings erected by the Gonzaga family, such as the Palazzo Ducale. This imposing building houses the Bridal Chamber, decorated with frescoes by Andrea Mantegna. The Gonzagas also erected the Palazzo Te, known for the Sala dei Giganti, in which every surface is covered with paintings of mythological scenes.
